Review of Coexist (Keegan's Chronicles #1) by Julia Crane

Coexist (Keegan's Chronicles, #1)

Description
Sixteen-year-old Keegan is struggling to keep her huge secret from her friends--she's an elf, descended from a long line of elves that live in secrecy alongside humans. In elfin society, mates are predetermined but not allowed to meet until they are eighteen. Against tradition, Keegan's brother Thaddeus told her Rourk's name because his visions warned him she'd need Rourk's protection, especially since Keegan will play a key role in the coming war between the dark and light elves.

Rourk finds himself drawn to Keegan's side every time she thinks his name. He wants to talk to her but remains in the shadows, silently guarding her every time she mentally beckons him. A twist of fate thrusts the two of them together when Rourk is forced to step up his protection and make his presence known. An ancient prophecy deeply entwines Keegan's family and the future of their society. Somehow they must find a way to thwart fate and win the battle...without losing Keegan. With war brewing, and dark forces aligning, will Keegan and Rourk ever have the life together that they both desire?
My Thoughts
This cover .. this cover is just amazing :D The fact not only is there a girl there.. with branches and stuff crawling up her legs and she's standing on grass in a road, and then the city is just out there. Not only is the cover really interesting but the TITLE is very interesting.. the name, the font and also the colour. After I was happy with the cover and title I read the description and that was also very interesting and I really wanted to read it. AND its free or was free on Amazon so why not read it :)

After just reading the first few pages I was intrigued by it which made me want to read more. Every chapter the ending of it just made me go.. NEXT please.. so on.. and so fourth. Which led me finishing it quite quickly. I loved this book, I found it different and very interesting. The fact you cant meet your "soul mate" until you are 18 and the fact you have 1 is very strange and interesting. The POV switches between Rourk and Keegan the two main characters.

Keegan is a nice, kind but to me a very strange girl. I love her attitude towards things she does and believes in, but I hate how she was kinda treated by her parents.
Rourk is a mysterious guy who we didn't know much about, I always thought he has a past which we didn't know about. I loved him to bits on how he cared and was very protective of Keegan.
Thaddeus who is Keegan's brother also plays an important part in the book and I think he was my favourite character as he was smart, and he helped Keegan in the book, I also thought he made me laugh a little.
There was more characters but I felt these 3 were the main ones as they were playing the main roles.

My overall opinion of this book is I loved it, and I want to read the second one :D.
I recommend this book to all YA lovers and who love A good book with a bit of love.. a bit of action and maybe... some magic. :)

  1. I recently read the book and I love it. The book about elves is such a welcome change from vampires and werewolves. I also love the chemistry between Keegan and Rourk, they are so adorable together. Will be reading the next book, so excited! :)
