Review of Numbers (Numbers #1) by Rachel Ward

Numbers (Numbers, #1)Description
Since her mother's death, fifteen-year-old Jem has kept a secret. When her eyes meet someone else's, a number pops into her head - the date on which they will die. Knowing that nothing lasts forever, Jem avoids relationships, but when she meets a boy called Spider, and they plan a day out together, her life takes a new twist and turn. Waiting for the London Eye, she sees everyone in the queue has the same number - something terrible is going to happen.
^^GoodReads^^

Characters
Jem, she sees, numbers, when she looks into someone's eyes, and its when they are going to die, she keeps to herself, no-one would believe her, she doesn't want to make friends, are anything, she lives with her foster mum, but she doesn't like it, she just wants to stop seeing numbers.
Spider, he is an hyper boy, who is sometimes a trouble maker, but when he meets Jem, he likes her, and then, al he wants to do is get to know her, and he never thought, that they would end up on a run together.

My Thoughts
This book, is something i have never read before, and that's great, there is a bit of romance, but who doesn't like a bit of romance.
Jem and Spider go through allot together, on the run for something they never did, that's horrible, and the things they go though is something you don't want to experience.
I thought this book, was one of the bests i have read so far this year, and the ending will leave you wanting more, which you can..
The second one is called Chaos, so please i hope you pick up Numbers, and read it the way i did, and enter the book like i did, it was like watching a movie, i do that with books, which is amazing :)

Ps. Check out Char's review for numbers, she is an amazing person, who can review allot better : Char's Review of Numbers

Review of Changeling: Zombie Dawn (Changeling #5) by Steve Feasey

Changeling: Zombie DawnDescription
The last instalment in the chilling "Changeling series" - in which Trey must face down the evil vampire Caliban in their most fearsome encounter yet. There will be evil spirits, zombies and complete and utter devastation in London! Will werewolf Trey and his cohorts triumph or will the world be turned to darkness forever?
^^GoodReads^^

My Thoughts

Gonna be hard writing my thoughts,
This book, is the last book, but i wish it weren't, i really do, this book, is so amazing, and i like it, at first i thought the beginning was slow, and the fact Trey wanted nothing to with anything, was a bit, well, to late, as he has been through allot already.
When a girl from his past shows up, of course he is going to trust her..
How can, the good guys save London, and the people in it, when a shield is blocking anyone getting in or out, well that's a simple answer, a witch. When all the action kicks in, its an amazing book, and you would not want to put it down.
If you have read the others before this, then please read this one, i might of babbled on, but its better than having nothing written on my review.

Determined to keep Cam with her, Morgan plots to fool the fairies and see if their "perfect" love can weather an uncertain future.
^^GoodReads^^

My thoughts
This book was short but good, it wasnt my usual type, and there wasnt much, magic i would of loved to of seen.
The fact she took it, on herself, to go with her heart, was good.
The characters are amazing, and i like how Pip, changes, as a boy, and into something, we all love.
I can't think of much more to say, apart from, its a great book, and an easy read :)

Review of The Gathering (Darkness Rising #1) by Kelley Armstrong

The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1)Description
Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can’t find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students—for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.

Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya's determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya's home, and they won’t go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts getting negative vibes from certain people and things. It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret—and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.
^^GoodReads^^

My Thoughts
I loved this books so much  because as soon as the first chapter started i knew that this is the sort of book i read, and because someone and a close friend to Maya dies, it just makes it that more interesting.
She develops good friendships, and even a relationship, but even that is complicated.
She learns her true nature and exactrly what she is, and it she learns she has somthing simerlar to Rafe.
If you likeed the darkest powers trilogy, then you will like this one!

I am so looking forward to reading the next one called The Calling, which is due to be published in April 2012 :)

Review of Blackwatch (Wintercraft #2) by Jenna Burtenshaw

Blackwatch (Wintercraft, #2)Description:

Kate has escaped the clutches of the High Council and Silas has left Albion for the continent. But their lives are forever linked and as the veil weakens, causing Albion's skilled to fear for everyone's safety, Silas and Kate find themselves drawn together by the mysterious and corrupt Dalliah Grey.
^^goodreads^^

Characters:
Silas is on the run and then goes to try to find Dalliah Grey, and then Blackwatch is following him and trying to get him, finally they do, but it doesn't stay that way.
Kate is a prisoner underground for what she did in the last book, but she then soon escapes.

My Thoughts:
I loved this book so much, and the way Jenna Burtenshaw writes this, is amazing.
The storyline was once again, brilliant.
I loved how in both Silas and Kate aren't really together in it, but at the end joins together, and once again, at the end, is then separated again.
This time, Edgar was in it much more, and he was as brave as Silas, and even Silas cared for him.
Kate's power is such an importance in this book, i hope that we see more of it.
If you loved Wintercraft then you will love Blackwatch!

Review of City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare

City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4)

Description:
City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.
Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels
^ taken form goodreads^

Characters:
Simon, the daylighter, he is in this more now, thank god, because i though he did not have as much role in the other 3, but this one, he was more of a main character, and i am glad, because without him, this story would not of unfolded.
Clary, she is training to become a shadowhunter, has a boyfriend, and is happy, al she asks for, as a normal life as possible, but even that cannot happen.
Jace, the shadow hunter, is so happy to have Clary, but he starts beginning to become distant, and we are confused, why, but eventually you understand.

My Thoughts:
I thought this book, was amazing, and once i got into it, i really did not want to put it down. The storyline is immense, and it did not disappoint me. The characters develop allot more, and you see the ones who weren't as brave become brave.

If you have read the 3 before, read this, you will not be disappointed!

Signed book!

Today i met an author , her name is Barbara Spencer she has wrote this book Running: A Boy. A Missing Computer Scientist. A Secret So Dangerous, it Must Stay Hidden from the World.

I have a copy of it, and its signed! so happy!

Here is the description of the book:

Fifteen year old Scott Anderson has a secret so big he daren't share it even with his best friends. He and his dad are American. If you're American, you don't talk about it. If you don't talk about that, you don't talk about any of the other secrets that haunt your life that your dad's really a computer scientist and people are searching for him. When Bill Anderson disappears, Scott is determined to find him. He has already lost his mother. She disappeared in the California earthquake, which killed ninety percent of the world's computer scientists; a tragedy for which America is held responsible. But there's little for Scott to go on; a scrap of paper left in a printer and a poster pinned to the wall. Now someone's looking for Scott, too. Is it the mysterious Frenchman, who pretends to be a radiation expert, or Sean Terry of the American Secret Service, who believes the United States innocent of the crimes levelled against it? Could it be Hilary Stone, the prettiest girl in class, who also claims to work for the American Secret Service? Or is it someone else entirely? Following the clues, Scott heads north on his dad's bike. As his pursuers catch up with him, it is Hilary Stone who saves him. Despite not trusting her, he grudgingly allows her to go with him to Scotland, where he believes the answer lies. After all, as Hilary points out; she has the gun. The annual flower festival at the Keukenhof in Holland plays host to the final scene where, at last, Scott comes face to face with his pursuers, and learns the secret his father has always kept hidden from him.

Review of The edge by Alan Gibbons

The Edge

Description:
Danny is a boy on the edge. A boy teetering on the brink of no return, living in fear.
Cathy is his mother. She’s been broken by fear.
Chris Kane is fear- and they belong to him
But one day they escape. They’re looking for freedom, for a promised land where they can start really living. Instead they find prejudice, and danger of another kind.
^^
Blurb of the book

Characters:
Danny: He feels powerless and he is always scared of what Chris could do, and when he gets given the chance to escape he takes it, and does everything to help his mum escape. But they do, but other things start happening.
Cathy: A women who is scared and wants to escape Chris who hit she, and makes her feel alone, so when she gets the chance she takes her son, and runs, they manage to escape but that’s not the last of Chris Kane.
Chris: The man, both Danny and Cathy are scared of, and ran away from him, he thinks he owns Cathy and Danny, he thinks he is in love with her, and by that, he controlled her, and will do anything to find them, anything at all, to be able to control them both once again, even if it means hurting other people.
Abbie: Danny’s best friend, who gets caught in all of this, Chris Kane will stop at anything to get information, even if it id through Abbie.
Harry: Danny’s granddad and Cathy’s dad, he thinks the worst of them both, especially Danny, because of the colour of Danny’s skin, he is racist but he may have it in him, to change his views, and maybe Danny will be the one to change it.
Joan: Danny’s grandma and Cathy’s mum, she is so pleased to see them, and doesn’t even ask why they are back, she just wants everything to be a family, and she even argues with Harry, because of the way he acts.
Steve: He is a racist  boy who has nothing better to do then pick on Danny, but Danny is allot stronger than he thinks, and he should of thought about that before being racist in front of Danny.

My thoughts:
I got this book, when i was in year 8, so 3 years ago, but i never read it, because i was nto into reading then, but the book is signed and i met the Author!!
I am glad i finally read it, and i was pleased i did, it’s not normally a book i read, but it was good, i liked how Alan Gibbons wrote the parts from different perspectives, it told the way i would like most stories to be, it showed, the victims, the person who causes the pain, and also the friends, and people who have witnessed or is part of it.
The ending was good, and i want to tell everyone to read it, it’s about, abuse, freedom, courage and prejudice.

Blog button!

It has took me a while to write this, but then, it took me a while to create my blog button!
I want to thank everyone who has helped me create it, and i would like to return the favour, but my designing skills are rubbish, unless you want a montage of your favourite books.
So all you have to do, is design your blog button on paint, e.g, you have the background pink and writing purple or an image of something with writing on top. Make sure it is suitable size, and not too big, like mine, ooops!
After that all you have to do is, then , send it to my email address basicallybooks@live.co.uk , and link to your blog, and then i will do the code/link for you, and i will then put it on my blog, for you to copy onto your blog , and once that is done, i will remove it off my blog, unless you want me to keep it there for you to get more followers!

Also visit my goodreads group on facebook called basically books!

Thank you so much for reading this!!

Review of Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors #1) by Susan Beth Pfeffer

Description:

Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors, #1)
Miranda’s disbelief turns to fear in a split second when a meteor knocks the moon closer to the earth. How should her family prepare for the future when worldwide tsunamis wipe out the coasts, earthquakes rock the continents, and volcanic ash blocks out the sun? As summer turns to Arctic winter, Miranda, her two brothers, and their mother retreat to the unexpected safe haven of their sunroom, where they subsist on stockpiled food and limited water in the warmth of a wood-burning stove.
^^Goodreads^^

Characters:
There is a few characters but the main character i fell in love with, which is weird to say, because she is a girl, but the way she handled things, and even though she was not the strongest, she was not the weakest.
She understands her responsibilities, and when she should stop doing something.
She has already suffered a great loss, before hand, and when this happens, she has to suffer more, but because of the situation, she does not really have time to mourn over the people who dies, she has to stay together, for her mother and her two brothers, and if that is not bad enough, she is worried about her dad, and his wife, and their child.
I don't know how she manages to cope, but she does, so i feel her Character is the best i have seen , in a book like this.

My thoughts:
Basically i have allot of thoughts but i am struggling with the words to put down here, this book, was amazing, and i just wanted to finish it!
I loved how it was a diary and it covered a whole day, and ended with her birthday, showing that they survived that long, why not survive for longer,
This is one of the best Disaster books i have read ever!!
Please read this, if you love Disaster movies/books!

>Goodreads

Alex- An angel hunter basically, he has a past , which is why he hunts Angels
The Angels- You normally think angels as the good ones, but not in this book, not here, in this book, they feed off humans.

My thoughts:
I thought this book was amazing, and i loved how they portrayed angels in this, i also liked the plot, on how she is so special, and he should not fall for her, but does.
I love the way L.A. Weatherly has thought of all ideas and the way she has put everything together, this is a must read!!

Review of The Iron Witch (The Iron Witch #1) by Karen Mahoney

                                 Description:
The Iron Witch (The Iron Witch, #1)Freak. That's what her classmates call seventeen-year-old Donna Underwood. When she was seven, a horrific fey attack killed her father and drove her mother mad. Donna's own nearly fatal injuries from the assault were fixed by magic—the iron tattoos branding her hands and arms. The child of alchemists, Donna feels cursed by the magical heritage that destroyed her parents and any chance she had for a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane and grounded is her relationship with her best friend, Navin Sharma.
When the darkest outcasts of Faerie—the vicious wood elves—abduct Navin, Donna finally has to accept her role in the centuries old war between the humans and the fey. Assisted by Xan, a gorgeous half-fey dropout with secrets of his own, Donna races to save her friend—even if it means betraying everything her parents and the alchemist community fought to the death to protect.
>goodreads

Characters:
The main character Donna has been called a freak, and horrible names at school, so she now gets home schooled, she has incredible strength.
Navin who is the only one who wants to be friends, and be close to Donna, still, doesn't know her secrets, but that doe snot last long.
Xan is a half-fey and he is hot, and anyway, he has secrets of his own, so him and Donna make good friends, or maybe more, because they have things in common.

My thoughts:
This book was brilliant, and i loved the plot, how at the beginning, she is clueless what is happening , but then she gets dragged in, and she solves it.
I hope more people will like this book, because it is a must read book!!!

Review of Maximum Ride: Angel by James Patterson

Well another amazing book by the brilliant writer James Patterson.
Maximum Ride: Angel

Description:
In the seventh book in the bestselling series, evil scientists are still trying to convince Max that she needs to save the world, this time by providing the genetic link in speeding up the pace of evolution. Worse, they're trying to convince her that her perfect mate is Dylan, the newest addition to the flock. The problem is that, despite herself, Max is starting to believe it.

Fang travels the country collecting his own gang of evolved humans, but the two separate flocks must unite to defeat a frightening doomsday cult whose motto is Save the Planet: Kill the Humans. And this time, the true heroine, for once, might just be little Angel.

>Taking from goodreads

Characters:
Max: she is left lonely and sad because of fang leaving her, but she still fights well and tries to make decision for the gang.
Dylan: he is still with them and he tries to comfort Max, and tries to be the one she is meant to be with.
Angel: she's young but she's not stupid, she is probably the only one who thinks straight and thinks of good ideas, and also stays calm, hence why the book is called angel.
And another main character has to be Fang: He is gutted he had to leave Max, but its because he thinks she's not the only one who can save the world , so he gets a group together.

My thoughts:
This book was absolutely brilliant and kept me reading , when i could, the plot drew me in , and it was good how you saw the two sides merge as one.
The fact they cannot trust no-one is a key element in the stories, because thats how they have become so mature and so close as a group.
This was the best maximum ride novel since the first one i think! , Please read this book if you have read the other one.
