The Cover Wars: I Am Number Four

Rea of Rea's Reading and Reviews and I decided to get together to do a weekly meme where we would compare covers of the UK editions of books with those of the US editions.

The aim of this is to just have a bit of fun. We put ourselves in the position where we see both of these books side by side in the bookstore. Which would we choose? Why that one and not the other?

This week, we will be comparing the UK and US covers of  I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. I have watched the movie and read the book :) AMAZING!!! :D

The First book is the US version and the Second one is the UK

version.

Tara says: They both have that swirly design on it, and I understand why, as I have read the book and watched the I Am Number Four movie, but I feel it could have been better for both. The US is orange, boring and plain. The UK version is orange, black and more appealing to me. It’s UK for me.

Rea says: What’s with that swirl on both covers? Maybe it’d make more sense to me if I actually read the book, but I have no idea what it’s meant to be. Which means that my decision this week boils down to the colour of the cover. The bright yellowy-orange of the US edition is a bit too in-your-face for my tastes. I am rather fond of the orange fading to black of the UK cover though. So UK it is for me.

Review of The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies #2) by Pittacus Lore

I was so happy when I got to read this.. because I read the first one and watched the movie of it so I was so excited and with this some of the characters i can see in my head clearly because of the movie. I read this on my sisters kindle so I read it for free. I find the cover a little too boring.. but oh well.


Pittacus Lore is a great writer and I like how he can write about girls and boys in great detail and I like how he does it so it all runs smoothly and well. The POV is either about John or Marina :D.


My thoughts on John (Number 4).:

• He is strong
• He is emotional
• He is loveable
• He is a little funny
• And I like him a lot

My thoughts on Number Six:

• She is Strong
• She is brave
• She is a but too serious
• She is also a little loveable
• I like her a little bit

My thoughts on Marina (Number 7):

• She is a little clueless
• She is strong
• She is brave
• She is a great character 

My thoughts on Sam:

• He is amazing
• He is funny
• He is strong (even for a human)
• I love him :D

My overall opinion is this book had a little romance not too much.. it has action and again not too much and it has power and friendship and maybe a little betrayal :D
